Digital thoughts from a seasoned programmer About

This Was Written by AI

Sort of.

Yes, I use AI to assist me in writing my blog posts, but AI doesn’t write the articles for me. Here’s my process:

  1. Jot down my idea and expand on specific points, usually in paragraphs.
  2. Feed the draft to multiple AI agents, instructing them to correct grammar and clarity.
  3. Review each AI draft.
  4. Rewrite my work using ideas from the AI drafts.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 if needed.

No, AI Won't Take Over the World

AI is trained on humongous volumes of data—all of which was ultimately created by humans. Humans are the ones who instruct AI on what is correct and incorrect. As impressive as AI can be, it’s not autonomous and can be imperfect.  Remember, AI might know a lot and can provide a lot of deep insight, but it still can't figure out why we keep watching reality TV.

Humans Are Still Needed

The doomsayers predicting that AI will replace everyone are being a bit disingenuous. Yes, AI will replace some jobs. Yes, a lot of people’s jobs will change, perhaps dramatically, because of AI. But humans will still be needed.

I like using AI. It’s a great tool. But I still have to do the work every time, no matter what I’m asking AI to help me with.

Now, if AI could just figure out how to put a fitted sheet on the bed, I’d have more time to blog about how humans are still the real MVPs.
